Meze for a Crowd

Middle Eastern meze, like Spain’s Tapas, are a fantastic way to eat. Small dishes, intended to encourage conversation and the shared consumption of a meal made out of many different flavors and textures. Foodisma’s meze could just as easily be called tapas… or even something else.

All meze orders include artisan breads, organic corn chips, pita bread or bagels, as appropriate for the dishes chosen.

• Cognac Pate

• Pork Rilettes – The classic French country spread

• Chicken Livers Lyonaise

• Buffalo Wings

• Ham & melon gondolas

• Pepper-roasted sidestripe shrimp

• Locally Smoked Wild Salmon – served with capers and red onions

• California Rolls

• Spicy Tuna Rolls

• Kapa Maki (Cucumber Rolls)

• Dry Spiced Edamame

• Baked Brie

• Olive Tapenade

• Fresh tomato salsa – We use vine-ripened tomatoes when they’re available, red onion, lime juice, fresh cilantro and fresh jalapeño peppers

• Hummus – choose plain, spinach or red pepper: all are handmade by Foodisima. We start with dried chickpeas, then later add fresh garlic, tahini, sea salt, cayenne and the flavorings of your choice

• Curried White Bean Dip

• Baked French Fries with Aioli

• Refried Beans – served hot, with melted cheese. We start with dried pinto beans and make these in the classic way: only better. Our refried beans are entirely vegetarian. Extra virgin olive oil replaces the traditional pork fat with a richly satisfying result.

• Baked Spinach Dip – Spinach mixed with cream cheese, sour cream, yogurt, garlic. Topped with parmesan cheese and baked.

• Baked Crab & Artichoke Dip – As above, but with a non-vegetarian twist.

• Baba Ganoush – Roasted Eggplant dip with garlic

• Classic Guacamole – we make it just the way you had it in El Paso: Avocado, salt and lime, blended in the traditional way.

• Köfke – Traditional middle eastern meatballs, made with beef and spiced in the classic way.

• Falafal – Organic chickpeas and spice are blended into balls and deep-fried

• Polenta Fries with Sweet Balsamic Ketchup
